Mammootty playing Ravanan in Suveeran's Mandodari
Malayalam Superstar Mammootty is one of the the busiest actors in Indian cinema and he has already committed to do six movies in 2013. As if they are not enough, the actor has recently signed another project, which has been titled Mandodari. He will play the legendary character Ravanan in the film, which is directed by Byari fame director KP Suveeran. Mandodari is an adaptation of NS Madhavan's novelette with the same title. It is a modern retelling of Ramayana in the 21st century. The movie focuses on the life of wrestlers in Goa. As Sita was kidnapped by Ravana, a beautiful lady was abducted by a wrestler. Mammootty will reprise the hero, which has the traits of Ravana. The director is yet to finalise other cast members soon. Suveeran, whose movie Byari has won the National Film Award for the Best Feature Film, is all excited to direct Mammootty in his second directorial venture Mandodari. But the latter is currently busy with his upcoming projects like Kunjanathante Katha, Kadal Kadannoru Mathukutty, Daivathinte Swantham Cletus, Kunjali Marakar, The Gangster and Black Invest. He is expected to start working on this movie after wrapping up his prior commitments.
