Shweta Menon, former Miss India runner-up and one of the finest actresses in the Malayalam film industry gave birth to a healthy baby girl yesterday (September 28) at 5:27pm in Nanavati Nursing Home in Mumbai.
Shweta Menon's last four months of her pregnancy, delivery and her early motherhood has been captured by the camera that will form the core of the Malayalam movie Kalimannu, directed by Blessy.
The team of Kalimannu took utmost care and positioned three cameras in the labour room on Thursday. Before Shweta was taken to the labour room at 4.45 pm, the director along with two cameramen and Shweta's husband Srivatsan Menon were present. The news of her delivery came at 5.27 pm.
Speaking to TOI, Blessy said, "The camera kept rolling for about 45 minutes, ending with a scene where Shwetha planted a gentle kiss on the newborn's forehead."
Kalimannu revolves around the relationship of the protagonist (Shweta Menon) with her baby, before and after it is born. The film is expected to set a new standard for reality as entertainment in India.
